How Self-Compassion Transformed a Competitive Cyclist's Rock Bottom Into Inner Strength

After being hit with a series of challenges and loss, followed by the discovery of chronic illness, Heidi Blackie realized that her only lifeline was her—and her belief in her ability to heal.

Heidi spent years pushing herself and her body to the limit as a competitive athelete, receiving awards and recognition for her accomplishments as a cyclist. But when her body could no longer be pushed to the same level, Heidi had to find a new source of strength.

In this episode, Heidi, who is also an occupational therapist, coach and speaker, shares her story of transformation and how self-compassion was a key tool for helping her move from rock bottom to a place of empowerment.
